Ready-Set-Go. Team Optimum gear up for the Great Bristol Run

All wheels are in motion as we gear up for the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run.

On the 19th of May, Team Optimum will be completing the 10-kilometre circuit and fundraising in support of Cancer Research UK, starting on Anchor Road at 9:30 am. 

All proceeds donated will be used to fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer through the work of the Charity’s specialist teams of scientists, doctors and nurses. 

Our CEO, Ant Persse, says he’s excited to go the distance: “Everyone has their own story with cancer, and for those who haven’t yet, the statistics state that we will at some point in our lives. Its widespread impact touches us all, through personal experiences or on loved ones. I’m excited to join forces with our incredible team to run and fundraise once again for Cancer Research UK.” 

Account Executive, Lisa White, says she’s proud to part of an amazing event: “I’m running for all of those who have lost their battle from Cancer, and for those who continue to fight it. The treatment and support that patients receive is nothing short of astounding. Not only would I like to raise as much money as possible for such a fantastic cause, but one that is also now extremely close to my heart.”  

For Hannah, RM Support Executive, raising money for charity coincides with a recently found passion: “I’ve only been running for around six months, but it has had a huge positive impact on my mental and physical health. Recently, I flew out to Tunisia to run the final 10km of Russ Cook’s (Hardest Geezer) run across the length of Africa. It was a fantastic experience and has helped me to push myself to keep improving my fitness and take on new challenges. I’d love to start raising more money for charity, so I’m looking forward to running up the Bristol hills in support of Cancer Research UK, and hopefully achieve a new personal best too!”
